Chest X-Ray
A chest x-ray is
necessary to determine if cancer has spread to your lungs or if fluid
surrounds your lungs, a condition called a pleural effusion. This test
will also provide information about the general health of your lungs
which is important when making treatment plans.
While chest x-rays are considered safe, overexposure to radiation
is a concern. If you have had a chest x-ray recently, ask your
physician if another is absolutely necessary. You may also use this
opportunity to discuss additional prescribed tests that will expose
you to x-rays.
